Photos
Please note that the WU event will be photographed. As the controller responsible for the personal data, WU will use the photos for purposes that are permissible under the applicable legal regulations (e.g. § 78 of the Copyright Act [Urheberrechtsgesetz]). This includes, in particular, publication on the WU website, on social media channels, and in online or print media, for the purpose of informing the public about the performance of WU’s responsibilities as a university (public relations) and for documenting WU’s activities. With your registration, you agree to be photographed.

Data Protection Statement
With your registration for the event, you agree that your personal data provided in the form (first name, last name, affiliation, email address, presenter or participant and dietary requirements) will be processed for the purposes of organizing, conducting, and documenting the event. As a general rule, we do not transmit your data to any third parties. Recipients of the data are processors employed by WU, in particular the organizing team.

The above-mentioned personal data will be processed by us based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The consent is voluntary, and you can withdraw your consent to any future data processing at any time. Any withdrawal should be made in writing or by email to Institute for Public Management and Governance, WU Vienna, Welthandelsplatz 1, 1020 Vienna, Austria, epurai-office@wu.ac.at The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out based on the consent before its withdrawal. Your data will be deleted three months after the last contact with you, unless legal retention obligations require longer storage.

We also explicitly inform you that you have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object. As a data subject, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
